Experienced Project Manager and Consultant with state-of-the art knowledge in various industries. I specialize in strategic planning, systems integration, and process optimization tasks. I have a proven track record of delivering impactful project results and building long-term client relationships.

I'm a 50-year veteran of the Golden Era of computer technology, starting with spaceflight computing at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), where I contributed to mission-critical systems for deep space navigation.

My academic foundations were forged at UCLA, where I studied under pioneering figures like Dr. Michel (Mike) Melkanoff - Engineering Dean and creator of UCLA's first Computer Sciences program, Dr. Phillip Curtis (renowned mathematician and namesake of the Math Sciences building), Dr. Kurt Forster (Caltech visiting professor and expert in celestial mechanics, navigation, and Dr. Leonard Kleinrock Electrical Engineer, implemented "packet switching" also known as Father of the Internet.

As an undergraduate, I pushed the boundaries of applied computing: I developed the first software to automate UCLA Powell Library's card catalog system, and, as a paid summer intern in 1968, I accelerated McDonnell Douglass' DC-10 rollout by six months by translating critical manufacturing data (rivet placement) from 1930s-era DC-3 aircraft on 1955 mag tapes into modern IBM 360 systems. Those pivotal experiences directly led to my recruitment at JPL.

After JPL, I collaborated with Dr. Robert Patterson, a UCLA and JPL colleague and pioneer of long-life rechargeable lithium batteries that solar-powered the Mariner 9 Mars satellite. Together, we adapted that cutting-edge technology for human health by creating one of the earliest implantable heart pacemaker systems with rechargeable power.

I was honored to develop the software for a groundbreaking patient tracking, follow-up and product recall system, ensuring timely recharges and maintenance of these life-saving devices. You can read more about this history in the following article: Intermedics C-MOS Mercury Cell Pacemaker (1973). Intermedics was acquired by Bostons Scientific, NYSE: BSX)

Today, I bridge the gap between legacy systems and modern IT, blending engineering expertise with a practical, real-world approach to digital transformation.

I developed a lookup tool for Science, Technology, Engineering, Math + English-proficient candidates to self-identify and highlight in-demand skills. The skills are ranked globally or by region (e.g., U.S., Canada), with sortable columns for recruitment firms or HR. For example, replace "Marketing" with "United States" to showcase top skills like Cloud Computing in the U.S. Show Your STEM Creds
